A Little Game is a charming coming-of-age film that follows the journey of a young girl named Maxine (Makenna Ballard), who is struggling to adjust to her new life after moving to Brooklyn from suburban New Jersey. Feeling lonely and disconnected, Maxine spends most of her time playing video games and avoiding making new friends. But when she stumbles upon an old chess set at a local thrift store, Maxine gets swept up in a world of strategy and competition that she never knew existed. With the help of an eccentric chess mentor named Norman (F. Murray Abraham), she begins to hone her skills and develop a love for the game.

As her confidence grows, Maxine starts to take risks in other areas of her life, including auditioning for the school play and standing up to a group of bullies. Along the way, she learns valuable lessons about perseverance, teamwork, and the importance of following your passions.

The film also features a talented ensemble cast, including Ralph Macchio as Maxine's father, who is struggling to keep his small business afloat, and Olympia Dukakis as her widowed grandmother, who provides a source of wisdom and support.

With its heartwarming story, strong performances, and stunning cinematography of New York City, A Little Game is a delightful family-friendly film that will leave you feeling inspired and uplifted.
