This movie is about the journey of a filmmaker who was raised in Spain and goes on to become a bullfighter. During his earlier years the filmmaker becomes heavily addicted to alcohol and drugs and decides to change his life after he hits bottom. He achieves sobriety for three months and goes back to watch matadors with his father. After attending the fight, he decides to devote his life to bullfighting. Back in California, he finds a surfer that teaches bullfighting in San Diego. He meets other individuals interested in the activity and realizes he isn't the only person looking to escape a bad past.
