Watch I Passed for White

This social drama details the problems facing Bernice, who was born into a mixed race family with parents of African American and white European ancestry. Bernice struggles with the attention of white men and struggles to find a job in Chicago as an African American. Eventually, Bernice moves to New York and begins a new life without mentioning her mixed race background and finds success and happiness. After marrying Rick Leyton and becoming pregnant Bernice is struck down by fears over the secret she is hiding from her husband and his wealthy, white family.
