Canada can be a hostile environment full of wild animals and bitter cold weather. When a little boy moves there with his newly remarried mother he tries to make the best of a tough transition. His father disappeared during a polar expedition when he was younger and when he meets a friendly dog he decides to start his own sled dog team. A neighbor girl helps him prepare for his first big race despite her father's hatred for sled dogs. Will the race end with tragedy or victory?
