This motion picture tells a tale of a family's fight to survive a harsh and desolate life, and their unwillingness to let anything separate them from one another. The film follows the story of a nomadic family labeled as Gypsies, during the fearful days of the Second World War. This Gypsy family is on the move to a town where they have traditionally stopped, worked, and earned a decent living in the past. Traveling with them is a young boy who has lost his family, and taken a closeness to this new family. However, once the Gypsies arrive in their town, they realize that a law has just been passed, preventing nomadic families from settling in.
