Made in U.S.A. is a 1966 Jean-Luc Godard film. Godard is considered one of the leading directors of French New Wave cinema. Anna Karine, Jean-Pierre Leaud and Lazio Szabo star in the movie. It is loosely based on the Hollywood movie The Big Sleep. The story centers around a woman named Paula Nelson (Karina) who travels to Atlantic City to hookup with her lover. Her lover is a Richard Politzer. When she arrives she finds that Richard is dead. This is the first step is a strange tale of suspense and intrigue. This is an excellent French twist of the classic film noir genre.
