A former RCMP undercover agent Patrick Kelly is accused of his wife's murder. Kelly manages to elude authorities, remarrying and continuing to live the extravagant lifestyle he desperately desires. In 1984, based on the testimony of a key witness, Kelly is finally convicted of first-degree murder. Ten years later, the witness claimed she had lied on the stand while Kelly maintains he is innocent.
