In this musical retelling, little Linet's mother encourages her to be brave while her father, Percival, is away at war. In her father's absence, Linet's uncle Godfrey terrorizes her village with his wolf companion. Godfrey, convinced that Percival is dead, badgers Linet's mother to marry him. Unbeknownst to the villagers, Godfrey has traded his soul for the ability to possess his wolf, which can transform into human form. The wolf-man tells Godfrey that Linet is not afraid of him.

Linet's grandmother gives her a red cloak to protect her and Linet learns the difference between being brave and being foolhardy.
