Watch Romance of Astree and Celadon

This is a dramatic romance movie in the fantasy setting of the ancient Druids. Astree and Celedon are both shepherds in the enchanted forest. Their love for each other is pure and chaste. When Astree meets another man who is overwhelming, she tells Celedon he must go. Their relationship is over and he vows she will never see him again. He throws himself into the nearby river, but is saved from death by a group of nymphs.

Celedon knows he still loves Astree. He disguises himself as a woman to get near her without breaking his vow. He longs for a way to tell her who he really is, so he can win her back to his side.
