Concentration camp survivors, witnesses and former Nazis agreed to be interviewed by director Claude Lanzmann and gave him enough information for 9 1/2 hours of film about the horrors of World War II and the Holocaust. Lanzmann asks for the most minute details when he interviews his subjects. It's very jarring but the answers make for an extraordinary oral history, a complete and chilling picture of the genocide that targeted all Jewish people in Europe.
