This animated film is a musical adaptation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs novel about John Clayton, Jr., who is marooned and orphaned on the African coast as a young child and adopted by a tribe of Brown Apes who rename him Tarzan. He teaches himself to read and write while growing up. After meeting a shipwrecked woman from America by the name of Jane Porter, Tarzan falls in love. But after Jane is rescued and told Tarzan has been killed, she returns to America and Tarzan must find a way to get to the states and find her again.
