Watch The Juniper Tree

The Juniper Tree is an Icelandic film from 1990 and is adapted from a fairy tale. Margit and Katla are sisters whom flee their homeland after their mother is punished for practicing witchcraft. Their travels bring them in touch with Jóhann, a single father, living with his son, Jóhas. Katla uses her family magic to charm Jóhann into letting she and her sister stay with them. Although Jóhas sees through the deception, his father is powerless to overcome Katla's sorcery. Jóhas, along with the assistance of a magical raven, struggles to find ways to break the spell over his father.
