The Last Bolshevik is a 1992 French documentary about the life and work of Russian film directory Aleksandr Medvedkin. The documentary takes a look in particular at Medvedkin's most famous film, Happiness, a silent slapstick comedy set in early Twentieth Century Russia. The film was directed by Chris Marker, a champion of Medvedkin's work and an expert on his life. Medvedkin lived from 1900 to 1989 and is well regarded by film scholars.
