The story follows the time in office of 3 small town police chiefs, including Chief Lee, Butts and Tyler as they pursue a child molestor/murderer in Foxy Funderburke. The story was set in the fictional town of Delano, Georgia, which had many similarities to the village of Warm Springs, Georgia, situated at the base of Pine Mountain. Warm Springs is the site of the vacation home of the late Franklin Delano Roosevelt and a state park bearing his name is located on Pine Mountain. In this story, Foxy Funderburke resided on Pine Mountain and it is presumed that the name of thetown of Delano refers to the proximity of President Roosevelt's summer home. Chiefs was a CBS miniseries in 1983. It starred Charlton Heston as Hugh Holmes, Keith Carradine as Foxy, Wayne Rogers as Will Lee, Brad Davis as Sonny Butts, Stephen Collins as Billy Lee, and Billy Dee Williams as Tyler (Tucker) Watts.Paul Sorvino, Tess Harper, Lane Smith and Danny Glover also appeared in the miniseries.It was nominated for 3 Emmys

6. The World of Joseph Brant

For two days in August of 1885, Plains Cree leader Poundmaker sat shackled in a Regina courtroom, accused of participating in a rebellion against the Queen's Canadian government. Administrators in Canada's Indian Department, including the Superintendent, Sir John A. Macdonald, saw the Cree leader as an agitator and assumed that the Cree were in complete collusion with the rebellion.

Born in 1742 in what is now New York State's Mohawk Valley, Joseph Brant's parents gave him the traditional Mohawk name Thayendanegea - two sticks bound together in strength. Though unintended, the name would be strikingly symbolic of Brant's twin ambitions: to be a power broker between Indian and English societies and to satisfy his thirst for power, recognition, and eminence.

This episode tells the story of the great Indian Chief who demonstrated to the world the British were not invincible. In the 1750s, Pontiac, had a peaceful relationship with the French. That harmonious situation changed when the British defeated the French in Quebec' in 1759. The British were confident of their supremacy on the frontier, but Pontiac proved them wrong.
