In this premiere episode, nine teams, each composed of a talented cake artist and phenomenal pastry chef, enter the City of Seuss for the first time, welcomed by host, Tamera Mowry-Housley. This is the first of three qualifying rounds, in which the first crop of three teams will compete in two rounds to earn their place in the Dr Seuss Baking Competition, judged by acclaimed pastry chef Clarice Lam, and world-famous cake artist, Joshua John Russell, with Susan Brandt, the CEO of Dr. Seuss Enterprises, along to consult about their designs.
