Kenan and Milan are happily living together when the Balkans conflict breaks out and disrupts their life together in Sarajevo. Milan decides the city is too dangerous and takes his Bosnian lover back to his childhood village disguised as his wife, a disguise that works well for the first period of time they spend in the village. Only when Milan is drafted into the army and Kenan is left alone is his secret revealed and a difficult period of time begins for the former classical musician.
