With Maxwell and the kids at a museum celebrating Brighton's election to class president, Fran prepares for lunch with her mother and a pair of relatives from Florida. While Niles readies himself for an interview to determine his eligibility for the Professional Butlers Association, Sylvia arrives with Uncle Jack and his daughter Marsha, and Fran learns her mother has told them she married a rich Broadway producer. So, agreeing to play along with her mother's ruse, Fran quickly convinces Niles to pose as Maxwell in order to impress her nosy relatives. Questioned about the children's whereabouts, Fran and Niles claim they are at the museum with their butler. But, when the PBA inspectors arrive early as a surprise, Fran tells them everything they need to know about Niles while he continues to pose as his boss.
